Alternative Design

AI & Machine Learning

Under Alternative Design, I’ve been developing experimental AI systems that bridge creative workflows with real-time automation. This includes building custom agents, prompt pipelines, and local model interfaces aimed at empowering artists and editors to work faster, without giving up creative control. These experiments aren't polished products; they’re bleeding-edge prototypes designed to test what’s possible when you combine LLMs, interface design, and creative tooling.

Challenge

Most AI tools cater to either engineers or marketers, not creatives. Tools like DaVinci Resolve, Figma, or web design platforms aren't built to interface with LLMs natively. The challenge I took on was designing lightweight, modular systems that give creative professionals the power of agentic AI workflows while preserving UX simplicity and artistic autonomy.

Objective

To build and document experimental systems that show how AI can augment—not replace—creative work. From custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to design-enhancing plugins, each experiment aims to serve as a blueprint for the next wave of AI-native creative tooling.

Results

I’ve shipped multiple working prototypes including: A local MCP server that connects DaVinci Resolve to Gemini for assisted video editing A web app that transforms base prompts into stylized ones using frontend sliders A working schema for AI-enhanced Figma plugins that convert light mode UIs to dark mode based on context
