After Hours
Photography Exibit
This solo exhibit marked a return to my roots in analog storytelling, blending photography, film theory, and dream logic. Staged in a downtown Fort Worth gallery Dang Good Candy, the series explored themes of isolation, memory, and urban surrealism through a cinematic lens. Each piece captured liminal moments - empty parking lots, neon-lit buildings, headlights cutting through fog.

Challenge
The challenge was to translate an internal atmosphere - the haunting feeling of being alone in a city that never sleeps into a tangible gallery experience. I wanted the viewer to feel like they were stepping into a memory they couldn’t quite place. With no budget, no sponsor, and complete creative control, everything from the lighting setup to the exhibit layout had to reinforce the mood while staying self-funded and independent.
Objective
Create an immersive gallery experience that merged photography with cinematic worldbuilding. I wanted the exhibit to feel more like a film still than a photo, each piece telling a story without needing a caption, inviting viewers to fill in the blanks.
Results
The show drew a strong local crowd and was covered by a few indie art blogs. More importantly, it marked the rebirth of my visual art practice under the Alternative Design banner, reminding me that slow, analog storytelling still has power in a hyper-automated world. Several prints sold, and the feedback from attendees affirmed that the eerie-yet-intimate tone struck a chord. This exhibit laid the emotional groundwork for future AI-infused art experiments.
